532 formation

The 532 formation in hattrick is very useful for defense coaches, usually combining it with the 541 depending on the game, thus guaranteeing to train 5 defenses per game. The 532 and the counterattack are almost always united, since with three midfielders it is difficult to choose to fight for possession.

Standard mode (most used)

Defense

Five defenses, the kids you are training, a wall in continuous formation. Generally the lateral defenses are put in ‘defensive’, and the central ones or in ‘normal’ or in ‘towards the lateral one’, to compensate well the defense.

Midfield

Only three midfielders, not opting for possession, usually use two ‘offensive’ ends to achieve two attacks by strong bands.

Attack

Two strikers to write down the counterattacks we have. They are usually used ‘towards the side’, together with the ‘offensive’ ends achieve two strong bands. They can also be left in ‘normal’ to achieve central attack.

Variations:

In defense:

Few variations here, although if you have any side defense, you can play in ‘normal’ to increase that band’s attack.

In midfield:

A midfielder is usually left alone, since the other two will play as ‘offensive’ extremes to achieve attack. Therefore the midfielder is usually put as ‘defensive’ to increase defense, although we have also seen it as ‘towards the side’, to further increase the attack of one of the bands.

Another option is to use three midfielders who have passes and use them in ‘offensive’, to achieve central attack instead of lateral.

At ends:

‘Offensives’ is the most used option, of course, to increase the attack and get the chances against the one we have. Putting them ‘in the middle’ doesn’t make much sense.

In front

The instructions to the strikers will depend on how our midfielders are placed. If we use two ‘offensive’ extremes, the strikers are usually placed ‘towards the side’, to achieve two strong attacks.

On the contrary, if we have used three midfielders, it is better option to use the strikers as ‘normal’, achieving central attack.

Workouts and 532

Goalkeepers : in all formations a goalkeeper plays, therefore 532 is as good for goal as any other.

Defense : perfect, 5 defenses and the wall getting taller, fits in wonderfully. You will also improve your ‘counterattack’ tactic, which fits very well with this training.

Playmaking : wrong, only three players in midfield, it makes no sense.

Winger : if you use two ends, it’s a good combination. Gradually you would reinforce your attacks, being a fearsome team to kickback.

Scoring : Two strikers, you lose a position up here. There are better options for training annotation.

Other : ‘long passes’ also fits very well with this formation, training 8 players, especially because you will greatly improve your ‘counterattack’ tactic.
